Drive
Computer Services was formed in 1983 to provide computer
systems and consultancy to the process industry. Today,
the company is a systems supplier providing solutions to
its key manufacturing
market sectors of Foods, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Blending,
and Lubricants.
Process manufacturing companies have unique requirements
and only software designed for their businesses is capable
of addressing their needs. Over the past years, Drive has
developed its BLISS system to meet these special requirements.
The company continues to develop BLISS to
meet the needs of the industry; and this strategy is embodied
in the product
development plan that is in place for the next several years.
Drive operates from its offices in Yorkshire
and its staff of software specialists and support
personnel provide a complete project
management, system design, support
and maintenance service. Comprehensive and
expert support during system installation and full user
training ensure
successful implementation; and on-line technical
advice and
telephone support from the Help
Desk mean that users can
continue to gain maximum benefit throughout the system's
life. A key resource of Drive is the detailed knowledge
of its staff in the business areas which it serves.
Most of the company’s personnel combine practical,
industrial experience with extensive systems and implementation
expertise.
Product Quality
Product quality is no longer an option. It brings competitive
advantage and lower costs, whilst enabling manufacturers
to more easily comply with ever increasing national and international
legislation regarding material handling and control.
Time
To Market
Whether
it be the quick development of product variants to meet
market changes, or the result of promotional activity, the drive
to shorten product development timescales and validate
new
products more quickly is becoming ever more important. Speed
of reaction is an increasing source of competitiveness.
Return On Investment
The ability to support effective capacity planning and maintain
high plant utilisation levels leads
to increased profitability capital intensive operations
demand low inventories and waste,
at the same time taking full advantage of short term opportunities
to maximise sales. The shortening of the supply chain results
in working capital being released earlier and improved
customer responsiveness.
Profitability
Highly
competitive markets impose downward
pressure on prices and margins. Manufacturing
efficiency is one route to being able to maintain profitability
and
meet customers’ price demands.
Customer Care
No organisation can prosper without exceeding
its customers’ expectations.
The ability to operate on a global basis,
taking into account market cultures as
well as accommodating new ways of doing business such
as EDI, must form part of a consistent and
reliable approach to delivering customer service.
Drive are keen to develop long term relationships with
customers based upon the professionalism and commitment
of its staff
