Lambson Group is involved in the manufacturing, sales and distribution of a variety of chemicals together with the provision of a number of specialised services primarily but not exclusively to the chemical industry. The company employs some 150 staff based mainly at its Castleford site and is the only UK company able to offer significant technical acid recovery and re-marketing services.

Lambson wanted to introduce a new, fully integrated computer system in order to give them more control of their financial and manufacturing processes and improve the timeliness and quality of information available to their management to support strategic business planning.

As a result of their investigations into potential software packages they identified BLISS as the clear leader in specialised solutions for process companies. This was backed up by their large base of existing customers similar to Lambson and the functionality and ease of use of BLISS itself.

Since installing BLISS Lambson have achieved many of the benefits they planned. These include substantial stock savings, improvements in availability and accuracy of information and clear operational benefits resulting from an integrated approach to managing the business. In addition Lambson have been able to better manage changes in their business and markets leading to increased competitiveness. Even now ten years on BLISS forms a vital part of Lambson’s business.

Lambsons play a leading role in the administration of the BLISS User Group and are reaping the benefits of Drive's partnership approach to the development of its products.
