Company: G R Lane Health Products
Drive Computing, the Yorkshire-based software house specialising
in business information systems for the process industry,
has announced a £170,000 order from G R Lane Health
Products for the BLISS business control software. The new
system will be used to improve control of manufacturing,
distribution, financial, purchasing and quality activities
in the company.
G R Lane employs 100 people and is based in Gloucester. It
manufactures natural-based pharmaceutical products, nutritional
supplements and herbal medicines, such as Olbas Oil and Kalms,
which are sold through chemists and health food shops in
the UK and 50 countries throughout the world.
Drive Computing was invited to tender for the system by Stratford-Upon-Avon
based Computer Consultants Limited, and the BLISS system
was short listed with Ross's Promix and SSI's BPCS. BLISS was chosen for its high functionality, full GUI and Drive's
fresh approach.
The company's Financial Director Derek Humphrey said: "Our
previous 10 year old system was showing it's age and we needed
a fully integrated package that also provided more management
information. BLISS is also being used by
other companies in our industry and meets the guidelines
of the Medicine
Control Agency, which is important to us. Drive's system
also met our budget constraints whilst providing a solution
to our needs. The system will help us to meet our inventory
reduction targets and to establish EDI links with our suppliers
and customers."
